This one. She is a gem of light. I just want to soak in each of her words and pictures. I adore her–and you will too. You can find her online at www.blissitsallaboutlove.weebly.com. Meet Tina.
What is your superpower? My smile.
Who do you adore? The little people in my life. The nieces and nephews and my goddaughter. I adore them with my whole being. I adore their energy and their laughter. I adore those cute little faces and those sweet, sweet hugs and kisses.
Describe your brave heart outfit. My brave heart outfit is something that I can play in. My wardrobe mainly consists of hand-me-downs and, as I turn 30, I think I am finally able to start deciding what I want to wear as opposed to wearing what I have access to. I want for my wardrobe to consist of clothes that I can run in, practice yoga, sit on the ground, get sweaty, get comfy, and live my life. I want to be able to live my life according to my heart, not according to what clothes I am wearing.
What book has shaped you? Journey to the Heart by Melody Beattie.
What is your favorite movie? The Wizard of Oz. It scared me when I was younger and I never watched it. Then, in college, I watched it with Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon album synced up. I watched the movie over and over. I fell in love with Dorothy. I fell in love with her struggle, her innocence, her adventure, her sidekicks, her story. I fell in love with the magic of the journey. I fell in love with a story that was my own.
What was the best trip ever? All the ones where my face hurt from smiling and my belly hurt from laughing.
What is the best gift you’ve received? My engagement ring. It is moonstone and white topaz and it was made by some wonderful magic makers that I am lucky enough to call a friend. It is full of magic and love.
What is the ultimate party? October 18, 2014. 8 days. Our wedding.
What/where is your happy place? My happy place is on top of Half Moon at the Red River Gorge. It is where I want my ashes to be spread and rest forever, it is where I see and feel god, it is where I was asked to go on adventures with my best friend forever and got my favorite ring, it is where I have felt courage, it is where I made memories with friends that are no longer here with me, it is my happy place.
Who do you secretly want to be? I want to live in the mountains with my family. I picture myself gardening and hula hooping and doing yoga while kids in cloth diapers run around in the yard with our dogs and chickens. The sun is shining. I want to be free.
How has your work changed you? If I said that it hasn’t, that would be a lie. However, it isn’t the work that has changed me. It is time, it is life that has changed me.
What fuels you? I am fueled by working towards personal growth and accomplishing big, wild, and amazing things.
What’s in your office? A framed picture from my best friend that she gifted to me when I graduated with my MSSW, a few plaques and awards, a painting of a rose that I got when I was in Peru working in an orphanage, a calendar my mom gave me, a picture of my sisters, books and binders on shelves, a Bare Elephant candle, and this board full of everything awesome…
What is your shelter/refuge? Home. On the couch or in bed. Cuddled in his arms.
What is your favorite word? Love.
I secretly love…To have my windows down when I drive in my car. I waste heat or cool air, and I don’t care.
What are the tools of your trade? Hula hoops, yoga mat, and music.
What are you scared of? Being seen.
What did you study? Social Work. I am not a Social Worker… I am a Social Justice Worker.
What gives you courage? Witnessing other’s courage.
What is your most cherished thing? The people I love.
What do you love most about yourself? My willingness to seek adventure and live the most powerfully authentic me.
